Below, the sūtra is cited as proof: "Therefore the sūtra says: 'All perceptions of impermanence abide based upon the perception of non-self'"—all perceptions of impermanence in the path of seeing with signs abide based upon the perception of non-self in the true path of seeing. The statement "having contemplated non-self regarding impermanence, they do not give rise to wishes or desires" means: on that path of seeing with signs, having practiced impermanence preceded by non-self, they do not give rise to wishes or desires regarding the conditioned and contaminated; therefore, from emptiness, wishlessness sequentially arises, seeking nothing conditioned. Only wishing for the signless, they single-mindedly seek release. "Therefore, immediately after this, the signless is proclaimed" means that only after wishlessness does the signless arise.
