如是諸難，隨其所應至因緣相者，應得是未得退，或過此等者，已得退失。

Regarding "such difficulties, according to their applicability, [hinder] up to the marks of causes and conditions": "what should be attained" means retrogressing from what has not yet been attained; "or surpassing this, and so forth" means falling away from what has already been attained.
