順正、教導二論，是言論起所因善緣，此二何別？景云：前據派立法門道理，名順正論，後正對機教導令學，又順正論為引近機。

Discourses that accord with rectitude and instructional discourses are good conditions from which discourse arises. What is the difference between these two? Jing says: The former is based on establishing the principles of the doctrinal gates, and is called discourse that accords with rectitude; the latter directly faces the capacity [of the listener] and instructs them to learn. Furthermore, discourse that accords with rectitude is meant to guide those of nearby capacity.
