名號者，劫初時梵王於一一法皆立千名，帝釋後減為百名又減為十名，後又減為三名，總為一品，是第二名號品名號分。

Regarding 'names' (*nāman*): at the beginning of the kalpa, Brahmā established one thousand names for every single phenomenon. Śakra later reduced them to one hundred names, and further reduced them to ten names, and subsequently reduced them to three names, combining them into one chapter; this is the second, the chapter on names, the division of names.
