In the ninth section, there are five verses resolving doubts and objections. The four lines in the verse "Furthermore, this path of cause has no interruption" resolve these four objections in proper order: First, the objection states: "If there is no self, the subsequent existence should be severed." The first line answers by stating that the path of cause is not severed. Second, an objection states: "Results should arise suddenly and simultaneously." Answering this objection, it states: "Harmonious functioning unfolds, neither suddenly nor simultaneously, because functions harmonize." Third, an objection states: "If there is no real self, everything should be able to arise from everything." Next, it answers: "It arises from its own cause; because what lacks other causes does not arise." Fourth, an objection states: "Since there is no self, who appropriates functions such as saṃsāra?" This answers: "And appropriating what is done, because causes are uninterrupted and results arise, a nominal agent is established; a real self that can appropriate what is done is therefore nonexistent." For this reason, they are called the four lines in proper order.
