第二段釋意趣伽陀中，文分為三：初結前生後標其請者；次舉伽陀；後隨別釋五十一頌中，文分二：初一頌梵王請舉問；後五十頌世尊答請問，有二：上半讚、下半請。請有三：一、問學體；二、問學數；三、問學法，如次配請頌中，學及所學并修學文。

In the second section explaining the intention gāthās, the text is divided into three: First, concluding the preceding to introduce the following and identifying the questioner; next, citing the gāthās; and finally, following with individual explanations. Among the fifty-one verses, the text is divided into two: First, one verse in which Brahmā requests by raising questions; following are fifty verses in which the World-Honoured One answers the requested questions. [The first] has two parts: the upper half praises, and the lower half requests. The request has three parts: first, asking about the essence of training; second, asking about the number of trainings; third, asking about the phenomena of training. These are matched in order to the verse of request: 'training,' 'what is trained in,' and 'the text on cultivating training.'
