謂防守正念，常委正念等者，舉能防護以釋所防，由住正念防守眼根及正修行眼根律儀，乃至防護意根及正修行意根律儀，即以正念為根律儀體，此文舉正念實兼正智。

Regarding "protecting right mindfulness, constant and meticulous right mindfulness, etc.": it presents that which can protect in order to explain what is protected. By abiding in right mindfulness, one protects the eye faculty and correctly cultivates the restraint of the eye faculty, up to protecting the mind faculty and correctly cultivates the restraint of the mind faculty; thus, right mindfulness constitutes the essence of the restraint of the faculties. This text, while mentioning right mindfulness, actually includes right knowledge.
