6.27

解脫謂果，能熟謂因，即止觀等，此果此因皆是所熟，慧為能熟，能熟彼故，名慧之成熟。定心中慧，於所知境清淨轉故者，釋奢摩他支由慧成就，定心無慧證境不明障垢不離，由慧證明及能離障定心方滿，故名慧成就。

"Liberation" refers to the fruit; "capable of ripening" refers to the causes, namely tranquility, insight, and so forth. Both this fruit and these causes are what is ripened, and wisdom is that which ripens; because it is capable of ripening them, it is called the "maturation of wisdom." Regarding "because wisdom in the concentrated mind operates purely regarding the objective domain of the knowable": this explains how the factor of śamatha is accomplished through wisdom. If the concentrated mind lacks wisdom, its realization of the objective domain is unclear and hindrances and taints are not eliminated; because wisdom provides realization and can eliminate hindrances, the concentrated mind reaches fulfillment; hence it is called "accomplishment through wisdom."
