6.353

為諸有情成就故者，成七方便。得清淨者，令得入聖。令法久住者，若教若證傳燈不滅，由此三義故，宣說相應助伴等法。

'For the sake of the accomplishment of sentient beings' means accomplishing the seven preliminary means. 'Attaining purification' means causing them to enter sainthood. 'Causing the Dharma to long abide' means that the lamp of either teaching or realization is transmitted without being extinguished. Through these three meanings, harmonious, accompanying, and other teachings are expounded.
