八、本事者，通說世尊因地未發心前所經之事，及餘眾生宿世之事名為本事。

Eighth, 'past narratives' (itivṛttaka): broadly speaking of the events undergone by the World-Honoured One on the causal ground before generating the aspiration [for awakening], as well as events of past lives of other sentient beings; these are called past narratives.
