初中，云除遣麁麁顛倒了達善不善法者，泰師解云：梵語多重，如似剎那剎那，此云麁麁，義亦如是。又解：四倒非一故須重言。又解：倒麁深重故，云麁麁。又前念住了蓋結有無故了達不善，了七覺有無故了達善法。

In the first, regarding 'dispelling coarse and coarse inversions and thoroughly understanding wholesome and unwholesome dharmas': Master Tai explains: Sanskrit often repeats, just as 'kṣaṇa-kṣaṇa'; here rendered as 'coarse and coarse', the meaning is also like this. Another explanation: The four inversions are not one, so the word must be repeated. Another explanation: Because the inversions are coarse, profound, and heavy, it is said 'coarse and coarse.' Furthermore, because the preceding application of mindfulness fully understands the presence or absence of hindrances and fetters, one thoroughly understands unwholesome dharmas; and because it fully understands the presence or absence of the seven limbs of awakening, one thoroughly understands wholesome dharmas.
