第二解尋求門中，初、以四種審問處法，應審問之；次、於四種處法以四因緣，應正尋求，於願種姓根行處，一、以審問；二、以言論；三、以所作；四、以知他心智而正尋求。初以審問問其發願種姓根行；次以言論尋求彼三下，以第二言論因緣尋求種姓根行等，之以彼發願。

In the second, explaining the gate of seeking: first, by means of the dharmas of four types of grounds of investigation, one should investigate them; next, regarding the dharmas of the four types of grounds, by means of four causes and conditions, one should correctly seek. Regarding the grounds of aspiration, lineage, faculties, and conduct: first, through investigation; second, through verbal communication; third, through actions; fourth, through knowledge of the minds of others, one correctly seeks. First, by investigation, one asks about their generating aspiration, lineage, faculties, and conduct; next, 'through verbal communication seeking those three' downward, by the second condition of verbal communication, one seeks lineage, faculties, and conduct, and so forth, based on their generating aspiration.
