前中，雖遍安立一切所緣正除遣相，總有五種；然此義中，意取內攝其心不念作意者，此中第九辨正加行，正能除遣所緣境相故，於其中意取，第一、內攝其心；第二、皆一切相不念作意也；第三、仍緣他地境；第四、仍觀不淨等境；第五、仍緣無相界作意思惟。是故後三不順除遣正加行事。

In the former: although there are generally five kinds of characteristics of correctly dispelling all focal objects that are comprehensively established, yet within this meaning, the intention selects inward withdrawal of the mind and non-attentive mental engagement. In this ninth, analyzing correct preparatory application, because it can correctly dispel the characteristics of the objective domain of the focal object, within them the intention selects: first, inward withdrawal of the mind; second, non-attentive mental engagement regarding all characteristics. The third still focuses on realms of other stages; the fourth still contemplates realms of impurity and the like; the fifth still focuses on the signless realm with mental application. Therefore, the latter three do not accord with the activity of the correct preparatory application of dispelling.
