第四解了別事相中，初教詣塚間取青瘀等相，還所住處繫念在前，類身亦爾；後教思惟，不淨加行，於中有三：初、明教思惟止品加行；次、明教思惟觀品加行；後、明總教二品加行中，分明數習修光明想。

Fourth, in explaining the characteristics of distinguishing phenomena, it first instructs one to go to a charnel ground to apprehend marks such as the blue-bruised [corpse], return to one's dwelling, bind mindfulness in front of oneself, and analogize one's own body to be likewise; thereafter, it instructs one on reflecting upon the preparatory practices for impurity. Here there are three parts: first, explaining the instruction to reflect upon the preparatory practices for the side of calm abiding (śamatha); next, explaining the instruction to reflect upon the preparatory practices for the side of insight (vipaśyanā); finally, explaining the general instruction on the preparatory practices for both sides, distinctly and repeatedly cultivating the contemplation of light.
