是瑜伽師已下，第二教思惟觀品加行。於中分二：初、結前止道善不善修，若不能善修者，更次觀道作意思惟諸不淨相。泰云：出自理觀懃策方起，出於理觀住於事觀。今解：勸出止品所緣境相，當住觀品境相。

From "That yogin..." onward is the second part, instructing on the reflection upon the preparatory practices for the side of insight. Here there are two parts: first, concluding the preceding path of calm abiding as to whether it has been well or poorly cultivated; if one is unable to cultivate it well, then next on the path of insight, one attentively reflects on the various marks of impurity. Tai says: emerging from the contemplation of principles, diligence is aroused to begin; emerging from the contemplation of principles, one abides in the contemplation of phenomena. The present explanation: this encourages emerging from the focal marks on the side of calm abiding, and one should abide in the focal marks on the side of insight.
