別中，初尋求入出息體依緣身心，次尋身心依緣命根，此三即是中際生老死體，同時強弱以分能生所生，復求現在命根，從前際諸行所生，復尋此行，從無明生，前際十因略舉初二無明與行，上來舉果尋因逆次第竟。

In the detailed explanation: first, one investigates the entity of inhalation and exhalation as relying upon and conditioned by body and mind; next, one investigates body and mind as relying upon and conditioned by the life-faculty. These three are the entities of birth, aging, and death of the middle period; strength and weakness at the same time distinguish that which produces from that which is produced. Again, one seeks the present life-faculty as produced from the formations of the preceding period; again, one investigates these formations as produced from ignorance. Of the ten causes of the preceding period, it briefly adduces the first two: ignorance and formations. Up to this point, adducing the effect to seek the cause in reverse order is completed.
