自下第三總結三智即是能生法類智種依處，景云：上來所明前三方便，依未至定修，起了相作意，上下諦觀，即能熏發本有相見道中法智類智種子令其增長，名與種以為依處。

Below, the third [section] generally concludes that the three knowledges are the basis for producing the seeds of the knowledge of dharmas and subsequent knowledge: Jing says: "The three preliminary expedients explained above, cultivated relying on the threshold concentration, give rise to the attention of discerning characteristics and contemplate the lower and upper truths; this can perfume and activate the innate seeds of the knowledge of dharmas and subsequent knowledge within the path of seeing of characteristics, causing them to increase; this is called serving as the basis for the seeds."
