8.247

言四瑜伽者，一、持瑜伽，出彼菩薩所覺之法，若因若果總名第一持瑜伽處；二、持隨法瑜伽，謂隨前法而起修起故名隨法；三、持究竟瑜伽，由修成滿故名究竟；四、持次第瑜伽，重明前義，謂品次第，故言次第。

Regarding the four yogas: first, the yoga of holding: bringing forth the dharmas realized by that bodhisattva; whether cause or fruit, it is collectively named the first base of the yoga of holding; second, the yoga of holding what conforms to the dharma: cultivating in conformity with the preceding dharmas, hence called 'conforming to the dharma'; third, the yoga of holding the culmination: because the cultivation reaches perfection, it is called 'culmination'; fourth, the yoga of holding the sequence: reiterating the preceding meaning, namely the sequence of chapters, hence it is called 'sequence'.
