基云：勝軍等解，未發菩提心未習種姓果說名為細，未有習種姓果故，發心已去既有習果，與習種姓果俱行故說名為麁。

Ji states: Jayasena and others explain that when one has not yet generated the bodhicitta and has not yet cultivated the fruit of the gotra, it is said to be subtle, because the fruit of the cultivated gotra does not yet exist; from the generation of the aspiration onward, since the fruit of cultivation exists, it proceeds together with the fruit of the cultivated gotra, and is therefore spoken of as coarse.
