8.33

解云：遠離攝樂加行究竟此三作意是無間道親除麁重故增適樂，加行究竟果作意雖非無間道正能斷惑，而是解脫初離欲究竟增適悅多，是故偏說，餘三作意中，前二是加行道，觀察作意是勝進道，不同前四，所以不論。

Explanation: The three mental orientations of detachment, collecting bliss, and culmination of preparatory practice are uninterrupted paths that directly eliminate crudeness and heaviness, and therefore increase delight. Although the mental orientation that is the fruit of the culmination of preparatory practice is not an uninterrupted path that directly severs afflictions, it is liberation, initially completing the abandonment of desire, and therefore greatly increases delight; for this reason they are singled out and explained. Among the remaining three mental orientations, the first two are paths of preparatory practice, and the mental orientation of examination is the path of superior progress; being unlike the previous four, they are not discussed.
