解云：菩薩初學為止煩惱假相修者，但名慈悲喜捨，不得名大，若修成濟物，方得大名，所謂大悲大慈大喜大捨。

Explanation: When a beginner bodhisattva cultivates with provisional marks in order to stop afflictions, it is only called loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, and cannot be called 'great.' Only when cultivation is perfected to benefit living beings does it receive the designation 'great,' namely great compassion, great loving-kindness, great joy, and great equanimity.
