上來已辨種姓持，因種姓故，便能發心願求佛果及利他事，是故發心以願為性，如彼初地真證發心真願為體，今此發心亦願為體。

Above, the gotra-holder has been analyzed. Because of the gotra, one is able to arouse the mind, vowing to seek the fruit of buddhahood and the benefit of others. Therefore, arousing the mind takes aspiration as its nature; just as the true and realized arousal of the mind on the first bhūmi takes true aspiration as its substance, now this arousal of the mind also takes aspiration as its substance.
