答曰：第七作意是果，此四作意及前六皆因，因可相攝非果，故不收第七作意，此中以七攝四十，故唯但攝四。彼第十一下文以四十攝七，即七中有四十作意攝盡義。今以七攝四十非四十攝七，故不盡不收有不同，勘之。

Answer: The seventh attention is the fruition; these four attentions and the preceding six are all causes. Causes may be mutually subsumed, but not fruitions; therefore it does not subsume the seventh attention. Here the seven subsume the forty, so they only subsume four. Below in the eleventh [fascicle], the forty subsume the seven, which means there is the sense that the forty attentions subsume all the seven. Now the seven subsume the forty, not the forty subsuming the seven; thus they are incomplete and do not subsume [all of them], so there is a difference. Check this.
