四、明利他共自，云又除如前所說諸相等者，景云：除前為他捨諸靜慮還生欲界等三句，更有其餘利他共自勸諸菩薩應勤修學。准基公言：除前邪見修施等二法唯利他障餘與彼相違利他行名利他共自也。

Fourth, explaining the benefiting of others combined with self-benefit. Regarding the statement, "Furthermore, except for the characteristics as stated before...": Jing says: "Except for the three preceding clauses—abandoning the dhyānas for others to be reborn in the desire realm, and so on—there are other [practices of] benefiting others combined with self-benefit, exhorting all bodhisattvas that they should diligently cultivate and train in them." According to Venerable Ji's explanation: "Except for the previous two factors of cultivating giving with wrong views and so on, which are exclusively obstacles to benefiting others, the remaining practices of benefiting others that are contrary to them are called benefiting others combined with self-benefit."
