8.467

基云：菩薩不以第四法受為利益自他，若此行無利益自他故菩薩不為之意也，又以四法受信自利知可行不可行故，亦授與人亦知可行不可行，自他俱知可行者行不可行者不行，故俱為利益也，第五相中所有涅槃及得涅槃世出世間等者，即取涅槃及得涅槃世出世道俱名寂滅。

Ji says: "The bodhisattva does not consider the fourth mode of taking on Dharma to be of benefit to self and other; the meaning is that if this practice does not benefit self and other, the bodhisattva does not perform it. Moreover, through the four modes of taking on Dharma, one believes and benefits oneself, knowing what can be practiced and what cannot, and when imparting them to others, they also know what can be practiced and what cannot; both self and other know that what can be practiced is practiced and what cannot be practiced is not practiced, so they both serve as benefit. In the fifth characteristic, as for 'all nirvāṇa and the mundane and supramundane [paths] that attain nirvāṇa,' it takes both nirvāṇa and the mundane and supramundane paths that attain nirvāṇa, and calls them both peaceful cessation."
