泰云：詳此論旨尋伺唯在方便定，故初定根本與未至定尋伺間起，今得第二定時方便亦無尋伺，故言超過，從初根本定無間而生二定方便故名定生。

Tai says: Examining the purport of this treatise, investigation and reflection are only in the preparatory concentration, so the fundamental of the first concentration and the threshold concentration arise alternating with investigation and reflection; now when attaining the second concentration, its preparation also lacks investigation and reflection, hence it is said 'surpassed'. Arising without interruption from the fundamental first concentration, it is the preparation for the second concentration, hence it is called 'born of concentration'.
