From here below is the third section, an analysis by conceptual categories. First, distinguishing whether the three conditions are shared or unshared: that which conditions sentient beings is shared with non-Buddhists, and logically it is also shared with the two vehicles. That which conditions phenomena is shared with the two vehicles, for the two vehicles also contemplate that there are only phenomena and no person; this condition of phenomena is not shared with non-Buddhists, because non-Buddhists all have the grasp of a self and therefore do not have the condition of phenomena. The condition of the unconditioned (or non-referential) belongs only to the Mahāyāna.
