Next, there is one clause that clarifies the mind of initial entry into the stage, which states: 'bodhisattvas abiding... up to being able to generate vast intentions of compassion and pity.' This means that when a bodhisattva abides in the stage of the higher mind, toward all the various faults that can destroy all wholesome practices, they can profoundly generate disillusionment toward those conditioned things, and so forth. The phrase 'generating a mind relying on benefit' means generating a mind of benefiting and bringing joy; 'benefit' means the meaning of benefit.
