Eleventh, in the distinctions of the four propositions and so forth: they are not necessarily links, as they are spoken of in a general manner. In the second proposition for ignorance, not mentioning the distinct retributive karmic fruition of veiled-unspecified [nature] is due to abbreviation; the same applies to the second proposition for formations not mentioning veiled-unspecified consciousness. Or, in the phrase, "there is craving that is not conditioned by feeling, namely, seeking liberation, and abandoning other cravings based on wholesome craving": desire for wholesome phenomena is called the craving that seeks liberation. And regarding all wholesome craving revulsing from and abandoning greedy craving: because it is not conditioned by feeling conforming to craving that it arises, it is not craving; and because feeling and feeling conforming to craving are absent simultaneously and prior to it, it is said not to be conditioned by it, which is not contradictory. In actual principle, this should conform to the subsequent proposition: whatever is craving is necessarily conditioned by feeling; while there is that which is conditioned by feeling and yet is not craving, namely the subsequent remaining links.
