10.64

論解世間真實中，「云何世間極成真實？謂一切世間於彼彼事隨順假立，世俗串習，悟入覺慧，所見同性」者，此意明一切世間人於眾事中，隨眾事所起言說，意解所證之事，眾共許者，是此真實體故列。　「謂地唯是地等者，是此唯是此，乃至非不如是」，謂此地唯是地，是水唯是水，不是火風等，起決定解。世間共許故，無始傳來，非今卒慮，此等是真實體。

Regarding the treatise's explanation of worldly reality: "What is reality universally accepted by the world? It refers to all the world's conforming conventional designations regarding various things, worldly habituation, intuitive discernment, and commonality of what is seen": the meaning here clarifies that for all worldly people, regarding various phenomena, the conventions that arise in accordance with those phenomena and the facts confirmed by mental understanding that are commonly accepted by all constitute the essence of this reality, and are therefore listed. "Saying that earth is only earth and so forth is 'this is only this' up to 'not not being like this'": this means that this earth is only earth, this water is only water, and not fire, wind, and so forth, giving rise to definitive understanding. Because it is commonly accepted by the world and handed down from beginningless time, not something suddenly conceived now, such things are the essence of reality.
