The treatise says 'śarīra-pūjā', which in the old translation was called 'body worship'—this is incorrect. 'Kāya' is body; 'śarīra' is essence, which is the Buddha's essence, the Dharmakāya. Although below it speaks of worshiping the physical body, the intent is worshiping the true Buddha's Dharmakāya, hence it says essence. Therefore it speaks of caityas and so forth, and dharma-nature prajñā; 'dharma-nature prajñā' is tathatā. 'Caitya worship' refers to Buddha-stupas and sacred shrines. 'Stūpa' means high and supreme. 'Caitya' means stupa.
