論云「彼第八住一向清淨，此第七住猶名為雜」者，第八地無功用故，一向清，七地有功用故名雜。
The treatise says: "That eighth abode is solely pure, whereas this seventh abode is still called mixed." Because the eighth bhūmi is effortless, it is solely pure; the seventh bhūmi involves effort, and is therefore called mixed.
