Within pride (māna), regarding "pride concerning future states of existence refers to conceiving that 'I shall exist,' 'I shall not exist,'" and so forth: the text below says that "if wavering" means saying "I shall exist"; "not wavering" means "I shall not exist"; "conceptual proliferation and fabrication" explains the elaborate explanation above up to "I shall be neither percipient [nor non-percipient]," and so forth. This is the meaning here. Now examining below, it is also in [fascicle] eighty-six; this text is distinct. "The three classes of pride" refers to objects that are inferior, equal, and superior. These subsume four, as stated previously in [fascicle] fifty-six. Pride with respect to desires subsumes two, namely pride of selfhood (ātmamāna) and overweening pride (adhimāna). What arises concerning future states of existence has one, namely deviant pride (mithyāmāna). Regarding "I shall be neither percipient," and so forth: these pertain to seven matters.
