二十二根，《俱舍》頌云：心依此差別，此住此雜染，此資糧此淨，依此量立根。　以此頌故，不得增減。

Regarding the twenty-two faculties, the Kośa verse says: / Mind's support, distinctions, / Its staying, its defilement, / Its provisions, and its purification: / Relying on this measure are faculties established. / By virtue of this verse, there can be neither addition nor reduction.
