15.61

十六實者，除男、女、命、後三。七色，色。意全，後三少分，心。五受、信等五，十全，後三少分，是心所。命根，不相應言。答：後三根是九根分，謂意、信五、三受者，如《對法》第十，十根為未知當知根，彼加憂根，此論以十五心見道未知當知，此中無憂故。彼以種解脫分善根以去，即名初根，故十加憂。

The sixteen substantial entities exclude male, female, life, and the last three. Seven are material: form. Mind faculty entirely, and a minor part of the last three, are mind. Five feelings and the five of faith, etc.—ten entirely, and a minor part of the last three—are mental factors. The life faculty is non-concomitant. Answering: The last three faculties are portions of nine faculties, namely mind, the five of faith, and three feelings. As in the tenth fascicle of the Abhidharma[-samuccaya], ten faculties are the faculty of learning what is not yet known; that text adds the grief faculty, whereas this treatise takes the fifteen-mind darśanamārga as learning what is not yet known, wherein there is no grief. That text takes the wholesome roots that are aids to liberation onward as being named the initial faculty, so among ten it adds grief.
