論云「由三門故，二種雜染增長」等者，三門，謂前三食。煩惱、業二染依識食故，資長於識，餘有現前。
The treatise says: 'Through three gates, the two kinds of defilements increase and grow...' The three gates are the preceding three nutriments. Afflictive defilement and karmic defilement rely on consciousness-nutriment, which sustains and develops consciousness, while the rest are manifest before one.
