3. The second major section within Defilement explains that which can counteract it. Regarding "cultivating the six abhisamayas": this is as explained in the Viniścayasaṃgrahaṇī, Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi fascicle 9, Abhidharma[-samuccaya] fascicle 13, Prakaraṇārya-śāsana fascicle 16, Mahāyānasaṃgraha, and the Vijñaptimātratā Commentary, which explain the various portals of essential nature, increase and decrease, and so forth.
