In the section on groups of five, there are twenty-four sections. "The five causes and practices of losing offerings" and so forth are the five kinds of stinginess taught in the *Tattvasiddhi-śāstra*. "If in that place one enjoys offerings" is stinginess regarding place. "If obtained from them" is stinginess regarding households, also called stinginess regarding donors. "If the obtained goods" is stinginess regarding gifts. "If that for which they are obtained" is stinginess regarding praise. "If obtained in this way" is stinginess regarding the Dharma. Stinginess regarding dwelling place means: I alone dwell here, not needing other people; even if there are other people, I am always the master. Stinginess regarding households means: I alone have this family, not needing other people to enter; even if other people come, I am the most preeminent among them. Stinginess regarding gifts means: I alone take this item, not needing to give it to other people; even if it is given to others, mine alone is greater and superior. Stinginess regarding praise means: praise me alone, do not praise other people; even if others are praised, let them not surpass me. Stinginess regarding the Dharma means: I alone can understand the meanings of the teachings of the sutras, do not let others know them; even if there are those who can understand, they are all distant compared to me.
