Regarding 'Furthermore, there are six kinds of ultimate purity,' and so forth: these are the six constant abidings. Regarding 'the four great elements, the space element, and the consciousness element': the basis of form refers to the great elements, the basis of non-form refers to the consciousness element, and the basis of motion and action refers to the space element; hence only these six are stated to constitute sentient beings. Therefore, it initially says: 'these physical faculties and their physical bases, as their respective supports.'
