「五支不放逸」者，三世精進為三；三世持起勤事前方便，起極殊勝先時所作，加行作意為第四；其作意及精進為俱有故，俱時所行諸心、心所身語業等為第五支。

'The five branches of heedfulness': vigor in the three times constitutes three; holding and arousing the prior expedients of diligent application across the three times, giving rise to extremely distinguished prior activities, with applied preparation and attention, is the fourth; because that attention and vigor are co-existent, all minds, mental factors, and bodily and verbal karmas proceeding simultaneously constitute the fifth branch.
