論云「惡嗅生嗅」者，變壞故嗅，名為惡嗅，如糞穢等。纔生便嗅，名為生嗅，如韮䔉等。

Regarding the treatise saying “putrid smell and raw smell”: smelling foul due to deterioration and rotting is called a putrid smell, such as feces and filth. Smelling foul as soon as it grows is called a raw smell, such as leeks and garlic.
