Regarding the mountain composed of four jewels: the Abhidharmakośa-śāstra states that the western face is crystal and the northern face is gold, which differs from this text because the schools are different. As for the road of the wheel-turning king, both state that it encircles this continent; signs of a king of the four heavens also exist elsewhere; or because when traveling to other places they fly through the air, only this continent has its golden road. Although this mentions the gold-wheel-turning king, why would it exclude the other kings? There is the śālmali tree, which resembles a honey locust tree, not found here. The egg-born birds dwell on the eastern face; beating the water for two hundred yojanas with their wings, they seize egg-born nāgas. The womb-born dwell on the southern face; beating four hundred yojanas, they seize womb-born and egg-born nāgas. The moisture-born dwell on the west; beating eight hundred yojanas, they seize three [types], excluding the apparitionally born. The apparitionally born dwell on the north; beating one thousand six hundred yojanas, they seize nāgas of the four kinds of birth, eating them as appropriate. This is explained extensively as in the sūtras. Check which sūtra.
