Where the treatise explains causes, saying, "Wisely bestowing bright, fresh, and clean clothing and goods is called the cause of bodily form (saṃsthāna-rūpa)": as for the word "form," it does not mean "shape" as opposed to "color" (saṃsthāna versus varṇa). If it were shape in contrast to color, then there would be the sense of a cause of bright color (varṇa-rūpa) producing a fruit of shape (saṃsthāna-rūpa); thus one knows that "form" here simply means the physical body's form, because it broadly takes visible color as its cause. Furthermore, because they belong to the same aggregate, if visible color acts as the cause producing physical shape, what contradiction is there? Therefore, "form" might also be shape in contrast to color.
