Regarding the treatise's statement, "Sixth, motivated by wholesome, unwholesome, and indeterminate manaskāra, prior karma is triggered, which is capable of sustaining conditioned phenomena without interruption—namely, the external division, which is produced by shared and unshared karma": this refers to karma of the container world, as stated in the third fascicle of the Maulī Bhūmi, which may produce [the world for] an eon or the like. When creating this karma, using manaskāra of the three natures as an expedient means triggers the arising of this karma, which is able to sustain the conditioned phenomena of the container world without interruption. Mountains, rivers, and the like are termed "produced by the shared of the shared"; fields and houses are "produced by the unshared within the shared karma." As the Great Master stated, there are two kinds of shared and unshared. The two kinds of shared are: first, the shared of the shared, such as mountains, rivers, and the like; second, the unshared of the shared, such as houses, abodes, and the like. The two kinds of unshared are: first, the unshared of the unshared, such as one's own visual faculty, because others cannot use it as an object; second, the shared of the unshared, such as the matter auxiliary to the faculties within the body, because it resembles an object for others. Here it refers to the two passages on the shared.
