In 'giving others sovereign results and so forth, it is also through karma that experiences results in the present life': This means that it is not only due to others, but also due to one's own present karma. That is, where the Buddha dwells, he causes well-being to arise, and sentient beings, seeing the Buddha, perform the karma of making offerings. The Buddha causes them to be free from suffering and abide in well-being; by the power of the place, he gathers other sentient beings so that they all attain well-being. When a wheel-turning king exhorts and transforms [people] to practice the ten wholesome courses of action, sentient beings who follow and practice them attain happiness in the same way. When a bodhisattva in the samādhi of benevolence activates the mind to bestow happiness, making offerings to obtain peace is also like this. Through the sovereign influence of others, one's own present karma matures, and one thereupon obtains results in the present.
