Attaining samādhi is divided into four [parts]: first, explaining the distinct characteristics of that to be cured and that capable of curing; next, explaining that one who attains it attains the preparatory stage (sāmantaka); third, concluding the extensive noble teaching as neither exceeding nor falling short; fourth, concluding that worldly purification is attained by those abiding in the true Dharma. The first text has two [parts]: first, clarifying the twenty dharmas to be cured; and then, revealing that which is capable of curing. The first text is further divided into two: first, clarifying the twenty obstacles; and then, clarifying the dharmas capable of obstructing the four characteristics. The first text has three: first, the statement; next, the explanation; and last, the conclusion.
