佛說是語時，式乾等五百梵志求佛出家。佛言：「善來！」鬚髮自落，即成沙門。佛為說法，豁然意解成阿羅漢；八萬諸天亦發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心。

When the Buddha spoke these words, the five hundred Brahmacārins, including Śikha, sought to go forth under the Buddha. The Buddha said: "Welcome!" Their hair and beards fell off of themselves, and they immediately became śramaṇas. The Buddha preached the Dharma for them, and with their minds suddenly opening in understanding, they became arhats; eighty thousand devas also generated the mind of anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi.
