The Commentary states: Recounting its unreasonableness: each and every karma, fruit, and body—these three—are united with each and every self. Because the substances of all selves abide intermingled, to hold that creating and experiencing belong only to this self and do not belong to that self is not correct in principle. Should Devadatta's creating and experiencing also belong to Yajñadatta? If Devadatta's self allows this karma, fruit, and body to be united with that self, it would be just like Yajñadatta, or Devadatta's creating and experiencing.
