述曰：此釋分別，文亦有三：內緣必藉，兼藉外緣，故於外緣說於「亦」字，非與身俱以來，顯異俱生。「要待」以下，顯分別義。言「分別」者，謂邪教分別及邪思分別，一「分別」言，通二處也。自下別解分別之執，餘文可知。

The Commentary states: This explains 'discriminative' [ātmagrāha]; the text also has three parts: Internal conditions must be relied upon, and in addition external conditions are relied upon; therefore, with respect to external conditions, the word 'also' is spoken. 'Not born together with the body onwards' reveals its difference from the innate. From 'It must wait upon' onwards, it reveals the meaning of discrimination. What is called 'discrimination' refers to discrimination [derived from] erroneous teaching and discrimination [derived from] erroneous reflection; the single word 'discrimination' applies to both places. Below, it explains the grasps of discrimination separately; the rest of the text is understandable.
