The Commentary states: Concluding the preceding errors in general, this recounts the correct doctrine; its text is easily understood. Regarding the refutation of external imputations, the text has four parts in total. In the third section's separate questions and answers, above, the first has already finished refuting the self; here below, the second next refutes the grasp of dharmas. Herein there are two: first, refuting the imputation; later, explaining the grasp. Or there are three: first, a general question and answer; next, a broad and separate refutation; later, explaining dharmagrāha. Or it is divided into four: first, general question and answer; second, separate questions and answers of refutation; third, combined refutation of Hīnayāna and outsiders; fourth, explaining their two grasps. Or it is divided into five: first, outsiders and Hīnayāna briefly ask together, questioning that dharmas are nonexistent; second, briefly answering that the entity of dharmas is nonexistent; third, outsiders and Hīnayāna ask separately, and their grasped objects are refuted separately as nonexistent; fourth, combined refutation of Hīnayāna and outsiders that the grasped and the grasper are nonexistent; fifth, explaining their dharmagrāha, and the stages of suppression and severance, whether discriminative or innate.
